Victor M. Tafur, Esq. practices in the fields of international, commercial, and environmental law, including ESG (Environment/Social/Corporate Governance) matters, as well as arbitration and conflict resolution in these areas.
He is the Deputy Executive President and the Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York of the International Council of Environmental Law (ICEL), a world-wide association of senior environmental law experts founded in 1969, with an International Secretariat located at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain; and is Co-founder of the Coalition for Ecological Law, Inc., New York.
Prof. Tafur is Director of the UN Environmental Diplomacy Program and Adjunct Professor of Law at Pace University, Elisabeth Haub School of Law, New York.
He holds a Law Degree (J.D.), Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Bogotá, Colombia); Master of Laws (LL.M.) and Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) in Environmental Law, Pace University.
Admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the U.S. Federal courts in the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York—and in the Republic of Colombia.
