Geneviève Dufour is a full professor at the Faculty of Law of the Université de Sherbrooke and director of the Master of Laws program, Applied International Law and International Politics. She has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 2002. She is a specialist of international economic law and public international law. Her research focuses on free trade law issues as well as the interactions between international trade, environmental law, and human rights. Within this framework, she works in collaboration with numerous actors in the field of customs compliance and more generally in international trade law. In 2018, she received the Prix Tremplin en recherche et creation from the Université de Sherbrooke for her exceptional contribution to research. She is co-director of the BAJI, the Bureau d’assistance juridique internationale, which she co-founded, where she intervenes before international tribunals and advises various actors on the international scene. Finally, she acts as an observer of trade negotiations conducted under the auspices of the WTO since 2013. She is President of the Société québécoise de droit international, a member of the Orientation Council of the Réseau francophone de droit international, a member of the Board of directors of the Quebec Journal of International Law and a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Council on International Law. She is also a member of the executive board and Scientific Director of Simulation of the International Civil Aviation Organization.
