Pascale Ricard is a full time researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research since 2019. She completed her PhD at University of Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne in 2017 on “biodiversity conservation in international maritime spaces” and was then a post-doctorate fellow at the University of Angers on the project “ZOMAD: an observatory of practice in disputed maritime areas“. Her work focuses mainly on the international law of the sea (protection of marine biodiversity, activities in disputed maritime zones, fishing, exploration and exploitation of the deep seabed, conflicts of use at sea, etc.), international environmental law, but also general public international law and the law of international organisations. She teaches international environmental law and law of the sea at Lyon 3 and Aix-Marseille universities and conducts several research projects.
