Ms. Rose Lesley Kautoke, Senior Crown Counsel, is the Head of the Legal Advice and International Law Division of the Attorney General’s Office. She specializes in public international law, environmental law, and law of the sea. Ms. Kautoke has represented her country in multilateral negotiations which range from trade, oceans, sustainable development, climate change and other priority areas of the Government of Tonga.
Given her passion in environmental law, Ms. Kautoke has worked in a number of expert working groups and participated in the development of capacity building initiatives in this field. At present, she is working on developing the environmental law network in Tonga and on promoting a greater awareness and appreciation of environmental laws in Tonga.
